It may seem like we are ALWAYS watching TV, but we're not. It's the only time that we think to grab the camera and film Kate and Waltie together.

The Next Chapter!

On August 11, 2010 at around 6:15am, we welcomed the newest "littlest Beck" into the world. We had a wonderful home birth experience and after just 5 hours of active labor and 15 mins of pushing, this strong little boy popped out LOUD and perfect.

Grammy "Mimi" and our good friend Michelle Robinson were at the ready to keep big sister Kate busy while Daddy was able to support Julie in the final minutes and greet the little man as he made his debut.

Presenting Walter Erick Beck

We were thinking of a couple of different name combinations, but when he came out with his cute little "old man" face and sweet personality, Julie instantly said, "He is definitely a 'Walter'."

Walter Emil Osterberg was my grandfather on my mom's side of the family. He was a terrific and loving person who always made me, my brothers and cousins feel like champions. He taught me how to swing a golf club, pound nails, and control a soccer ball.

Erick is for my my good friend and hero Eric(k) Johnson. EJ has always been one of my favorite things about being alive. Geography and parental responsibilities have made it difficult for us to spend time together. I can't wait for EJ to meet this little nugget of love.

Cuteness with Kate and June in the Park

For Mother's Day the dads took the kids to breakfast and then the zoo. Since we finished breakfast before the zoo was open, we stopped off at a park in Oakland to let the kids run. Kate and June love to hold hands and run around.

Uncle Dave has been scanning pictures of the family. This is a picture of my mom when she was around Kate's age. Pretty cute and funny.

Introducing my nephew Asher Connor Beck!

Sorry for not posting much recently. Lots going on. All of it good.

Dan is getting the knack of being a new father. Natara is doing amazingly also. I'm glad that they feel that they are, "getting close to figuring Asher out." 19 months in and Kate is still a bundle of surprises.

Such a little cutie! Such a serious face.
Kate had no interest in the baby at the gathering we had last Saturday.

But she did LOVE biting into her first whole apple. She ate on that apple like a little piranha. Cute little bites all over it. And then smashing it into people.

A Littler Beck!

Today was a very special day. Kate's cousin was born last night. His name is still TBD but his mom and dad are doing really well.

Alameda Dreamin'

We've been living in Alameda for the last 2 months. Our house at 1810 Pacific Ave has been coming along. So far we've put on a new roof, new floors in places and refinished the wood floors that were already there, replaced the water heater with a tankless, and replaced the TERRIBLE, old floor vent heater with a high-efficiency forced air system. We also made a nice little pantry by moving the washer/dryer to the other side of the wall.

Folks around here call Alameda "Mayberry by the Bay" and it really does feel like a cute small town. Folks ride bikes around the island and you see families walking around.

We had the folks and Dan and Natara over for lunch on Christmas day.
One of the nice things about Alameda is that there are a lot of great parks. There are 3 parks less than 7 blocks from our house. We went to Lincoln Park today for the first time. We watched some folks playing handball, I'd never seen people playing it. Kate had a blast sliding head-first down a tube slide.
